There is enough aftermarket accessories to make it look like a AR, AK, P90, Krinker, Thompson Submachine gun, the list is almost endless.

Want to build a tack driving rifle that is cheap to shoot? Yep, you can do that as well.

Suppressed for varmint control? Also a yes.

Hunt small game? I have personally killed untold amounts of squirrels and rabbits with my current iteration of the 10/22.

Self defense? Well…I’m not going to advocate for using a rimfire .22LR for self defense. But a .22 rifle is better than a rock or a knife I guess.

(IF THIS IS YOUR ONLY OPTION… ROCK IT OUT, BUT FEED IT SOME DECENT AMMO)

SHTF? Yep, I’ll have my current one with it’s folding stock somewhere.

For an all around, “bang it in the truck or in the closet or the shop” rifle, these are pretty hard to beat.

The one I currently own and shoot is my 3rd 10/22. The others were traded or sold off as life happened. I will say I had some issues with the 2nd one I owned. It would not eat “brick ammo”, it was CCI or nothing. So when I got the one I have now, it eats CCI exclusively. Specifically the CCI Velocitor JHPs.

For 300 odd dollars, the 10/22 continues to be a bargain. Get one if you don’t have one. You will not regret it.

In continuous production since 1964.
